Precious Lie
04:41
|
|||
I see, how far you've come
And I feel, how much you love
You don't know me, but say my name, say my name
When your hope is not your own
And the fear is all you know
Don't close your eyes, you're not alone, not alone
As I watch you lie awake
Do you know what lies in wait?
You won't concede, you're never free, never free
As your thoughts they start to fade
You're biggest fear is that you'll wake
Out of this dream, it isn't real, nothing's real it's a
Lie, you will never be free
When refusing to see it
A terrible precious lie
Holding on to your dream
Nothings quite as it seems
A terrible precious lie
As your feelings fade away
And all the doubts you kept at bay
You don't believe it's no relief they believe
Lose the lie and lose the chains
that you believed would keep you safe
It's hard to wake when all you've known is your faith in the lie
You will never be free
When refusing to see
Refusing to see...
Eyes they start to open
Fears they are unspoken
Demons are awoken now,
It seems that they're here to stay
You have to face them
Without faith
Without grace
With no
Lie, you will never be free
When refusing to see it
A terrible precious lie
Holding on to your dreams
Nothings quite as it seems now
A terrible precious lie
You will never be free
When refusing to see it
A terrible precious lie
Holding on to your dreams
Nothings quite as it seems now
A terrible precious lie

So Tell Me
05:46
|
|||
I’m lying here awake in this old room
I wonder how it feels for you when you are all alone
I close my eyes to memories of the dreams we had before
But late night hope is stolen as dreams are overthrown
So tell me
How does it feel to be you
And tell me
What does it take to break through
What more does it take to let you …
How does it feel to be you
So tell me
What does it take to break through
What more does it take to let you
Go
Wishing that my heart would stop its fevered gaze
And wash away the memories clawing through my veins
I toss and turn my mind won’t rest your ghost won't let me go
Lying here alone I wonder, do you even know?
So tell me
How does it feel to be you
And tell me
What does it take to break through
What more does it take to let you …
How does it feel to be you
So tell me
What does it take to break through
What more does it take to let you
Go
Tell me your fine, fine, just the time passing
Tell me it's better and there's nothing after
Tell me that time was never evolving
Tell me the light washed all of the feeling
Tell me you're happy, tell me you don't feel
Tell me you don't care, tell me it's nothing
Tell me your thoughts don't ever remember
Tell me your your dreams aren't lying there broken
How does it feel to be you
And tell me
What does it take to break through
What more does it take to let you
How does it feel to be you
So tell me
What does it take to break through
What more does it take to let you go

This Ache
03:23
|
|||
You look at me to see if
I have given up
There is something you can't ever know
What I do not say
And the reasons I pretend
So to ease the ache I see in you
The irony I see
As you try to calm my fears
It sears but it's cruel to tell you no
For all that you feel
I'm not fighting it for me
Sometimes we need the kindest
Lie, I'm not strong no
But you believe
And what you need isn't truth so I
Lie, I'm not strong no
But you believe
And what you need isn't truth so I lie
Taking my will
Making you ill
Watching the ache
You cannot take
Swallow it whole
Taking my soul
I cannot fold
You don't know
Tell me I'm strong
Tell me I'm wrong
To play along
Fighting alone
Shadows I roam
All that I've done
I'll never atone
You must not
know
Noooo
No
For all that we say
For those who might see
The strength belies
The fears we hide
For those who play
In this caberet
The strength that you show
Isn't truth it's a
Lie, I'm not strong no
But you believe
And what you need isn't truth so I
Lie, I'm not strong
No but you believe it
And what you need isn't truth so I lie
No
Don't say, just don't say
What I hope is you don't know
What I pray is you won't know
All I do's so you don't know
All I hope is that you won't know
No

What You Say
03:17
|
|||
What you said, how you felt, I believed it
What will you do?
As you cried, that they lied, I believed it
What did they do?
As you scream that they cheat, I believed it
What should I do?
As you shout at my doubt, I believed it
You made a fool
After all this time, with your fear
With desparate lies, are they aware
You hang on tight, you say your prayer
You have burnt all that care all that care
As you try, don't say you're fine
To justify, you crossed the line
Just to survive, they aren't so blind
Leaves me numb that you can't feel, you can't feel
What you say, all the lies, they believe it
What will you do
Hear them now, what you say, they believe it
What did you do
See them now, what you say, they believe it
What will they do
Watch them now, what you say, they believe it
What have you done
What will you do
What did you do
What will they do
What have you done!
Noooooo
What you say, What you feel, I'm not sorry, sorry
I do not care
What you feel, What you say, You're not sorry, sorry
I do not care
What you say, What you feel, I'm not sorry, sorry
I do not care
What you feel, What you say, You're not sorry, sorry
I do not care
What you say, What you feel, I'm not sorry, sorry
I do not care
What you feel, What you say, You're not sorry, sorry
I do not care
What you say, What you feel, I'm not sorry, sorry
I do not care
What you feel, What you say, You're not sorry, sorry
I do not care
Oh

Not Sorry

Burning Paper Trondheim, Norway
Writer and recording artist of instrumental rock based music.
Although often progressive in nature,
I like to keep the tracks raw and not too polished. Each has a story in mind, which is told as the track progresses. Given the inspiration is usually some injustice (which is not hard to find!) or memory of regret, they tracks can meander between softer and more aggressive expression.
