We might think we are better and smarter now than before. But we are just the same greedy selfish species that uses religion to justify hateful acts.
We have the ability to make it right, but we choose not to.
Can music make a difference, maybe? Probably not.. But we as people can, if we could just think further ahead than today's desire.
lyrics
A world ablaze with our discontent,
As we dance on the graves, of the innocent,
Holding on to faith to hate who's not the same,
Turn our gaze away from the dying flames
Hollow minds tell their poisoned lines,
Avarice thrives as our compassion dies,
Without thought or care, we play their deadly game,
Ask me now again, who is not to blame?
Ask me again why I should believe,
In a world that mocks one another's grief,
A divided world, a divided soul,
With all this rage, tell me who, dares to hope?
Ask me again why I should believe,
In a world that feeds on another's grief,
Echoes the soul, with a deafening cry,
In a world full of fear, where hope is left to die
Tapestries, lies are woven tight,
We're just the same if we won't fight
Ask me now why I, won't continue to pretend,
To see a light in a world that won't mend?
Ask me again why I should believe,
Where our leaders mock one another's grief,
A divided world, and our hearts grow cold,
With all this hate, tell me who dares to hope?
Ask me again why I should believe,
In a world that feeds on another's grief,
Echoes the soul, with a deafening cry,
In a world full of fear, where hope is left to die
No
Die!
The sirens wail, the world's on fire,
As desparate souls cling to their desire,
In the ruins of dreams, a question remains,
Tell me again, who's gonna break these chains?
Ask me again why I should believe,
In a world obsessed with another's grief,
A divided world, and our hearts grow cold,
With all this hate, tell me why should I hope?
Ask me again why I should believe,
In a world that feeds on another's grief,
Echoes the soul, with a deafening cry,
A world full of fear, where hope goes to die
On this tragic stage,
I stand alone
In the depths of rage,
So why not take a bow
You played it well
It was up to us to play to win
Or play to lose
Play to lose

Although often progressive in nature,
I like to keep the tracks raw and not too polished. Each has a story in mind, which is told as the track progresses. Given the inspiration is usually some injustice (which is not hard to find!) or memory of regret, they tracks can meander between softer and more aggressive expression....more
Each composition is superbly put together, taking the listener on a journey they'll want to follow until the end. Hard to choose a favourite, but The Nightingale edges slightly over the rest. Burning Paper
Great fusion between rock and contemporary jazz - angular enough to create suspense, but resolving beautifully in time to keep the listener relaxed. Burning Paper
